In Loving Memory of Ashley

Ashley had been abandoned at a groomer in MD when her time ran out as a "brood bitch" from a breeding facility.  She came to us in probably the 7th or 8th year of her life and made the long car trip home to Chicago in October of that year.

In March, 1997, we discovered that she had glaucoma and was blind already on one side. But with medications and surgery we managed to help her continue to see until February of 2001.

Always a "people dog" she tolerated her younger brother Charlie, but lived to lay at our feet or next to us in bed. Her love for us was so great, she was our sweet, but tough, little lady.

Sadly, on Feb. 4, 2005, she left us for the Rainbow Bridge. I was with her at the end, and she slipped away at peace. Her pain, so great lately, is now gone and her sight fully restored.
